Design Complexity Examples

Although your website can be designed to look and perform in virtually any way imaginable, we generally separate our design projects into three categories. Basic website designs follow a very basic layout style, usually consisting of a banner image across the top, one column either on the left or right, and a main area for content. These designs are build using your logo and information as well as images that are either supplied by you or chosen specifically for your site. Standard website designs are similar to the Basic designs except they have the option of one or two columns on the right and/or on the left and they allow for more creative customizations to the layout as well. Advanced website designs allow for a great deal of flexibility in regards to the design and function of the website. These designs commonly have at least one specialized feature like a photo gallery, slideshow, or custom graphics or photography. Custom website designs are those that require a high level of customization, more complex features like shopping carts, blogging software, or group features. There are really very few limitations on what you can do with a custom designed website. Click the images below for selected samples of each level or click here for out full gallery of design style examples.

Just remember that most designs can be adjusted to fit most needs or budgets.

Advanced Design Styles

These designs tend to be more customized and less "average" looking. Many times our Advanced level designs will have multiple layers, customized backgrounds, custom menu images, or other more complex features than what are included in our Standard designs. Features of Advanced design styles include:

Multiple columns and rows in layout
Higher level of complexity
Multiple layers (images can overlap or be placed on top of others)
Menu images can be customized with fonts or graphics
Menu items can be staggered or scattered (not in straight line)
May include custom graphics depending on other options
May include front splash page depending on other options

Standard Design Styles

Standard designs are our "middle of the road" solution with enough time put into the layout and design to make them visually appealing and more than just functional. This style is what we would recommend to anyone who is looking to get online with a moderately sized website without spending too much. Features of a Standard design can include:

Multiple columns in layout
Higher level of complexity than Basic
Two image layers (some images can overlap or be placed on top of others)
Menu can be customized with custom background image
Inside pages are usually simplified version of the front or the same
May include custom graphics depending on other options

Basic Design Styles

Basic website designs are exactly what their name indicates. There aren't a lot of beels and whistles and they usually only have a few graphics, but they are enough to get your information online and possibly serve as a starting point for something bigger down the road. Features of Basic design styles include:

Two column layout, typically one main content area and one side column, either on the left or right
Simple layout with one main image
Text menu can have drop downs or submenus but no images
Front page and inside page designs are the same
Additional features/graphics are available as add-ons
