It’s been a long week of getting everything caught up and trying to get through at least some of that to-do list that’s been on my desk for what seems like forever. Projects that have been stalled out for reasons beyond our control will be rolling strong again next week (at least those that aren’t already).
I think this is a new record for the Zandergraphics Blog going AWOL… nearly a month without an entry. This will be our first full week in the new office and we are starting to get settled in and get caught up on everything. The last month or so has been a whirlwind of packing, organizing, buying new equipment, and struggling to keep everything current.
This week has been stressful. I won’t get into it here, but let’s just say if we never have another week like this one, I’ll be happy… or at least I won’t be completely miserable. The bad thing is that I don’t see a whole lot of change coming for another month or so. We are opening an office in Grinnell, Iowa sometime in the late summer or early fall and the theory is that at that point things will settle down some.
The email situation seems to be resolved for the most part. The little bit that still gets through to my email account gets filtered away from my inbox so it has a very limited effect on my life. Only four unwanted messages made it through the server, and three of those got filtered into my spam folder of my email account. The one that got missed wasn’t even REALLY a spam at all, it was just a bunch of gibberish with no link or message so there really wasn’t anything the filters could pick up on
After several days of tweaking and adjusting our mail server I finally have it purring like a kitten. The spam, as I had hoped, has almost completely stopped. Well, it hasn’t really stopped, but rather it is now being blocked and/or returned to the scumbags from whence it came. The changes I made last night had a limited effect on the amount of junk that was coming through, so I stepped it up a couple more notches this morning and now it’s a mere trickle.
