Well, the first trip was actually a field trip for my son's daycare center.. then my wife just happened to mention the pumpkin farm when we were on our way out the door a couple days later...

"Pumpkin farm! Pumpkin farm!"  I guess it made an impression on him...  So we went back the next weekend, just the three of us.

And we ran into another child from his class...

It's just a nice shot of a ear of corn in the fall atmosphere with the last remnants of green leaves still there.  If we went back a week or so later, that green would probably be gone.  It's all about the timing with these seasonal photos, in the time of year, the time of day, and even the moment to moment timing of the shot.  Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's not.  I can't say this one is perfect by any means, but it's one of the better ones from this trip.

More Ramblings
There was a corn maze... okay, honestly it wasn't really much of a maze.  It was more of a wandering path through a corn field.  I'm sure it was impressive to my two-year old, but the chances of getting lost in there was pretty much zero.  I guess if I owned a corn field, I really wouldn't want anyone getting lost in there either, so who can blame the guy?

Overall, it was a pretty neat experience.  It'll be really fun once my son is a little older too.  We got to see a pumpkin shot from a cannon and he helped as I shot ears of corn out of a air-powered gun and they flew about 150 yards or so.  I'm not sure that he has a complete appreciation for those sorts of things at the age of two.  I think he got the idea though.... if you can say that there is a point to shooting a pumpkin across a corn field into a pond...

This week has been a little like that corn maze... I've done a little wandering and exploring, but not too far off the beaten path really and I can't say I've taken too many risks.  We went out on a limb a little to expand the printing aspect of the studio though and maybe that was enough excitement for the time being.
