The next generation of the Zandergraphics website is in place and ready for public viewing.  I would like to take this opportunity to personally invite you to stop by and check out the new site, leave a message in our guestbook, read our new blog if you want, and just explore.

I know that many of you were fans of the old website design and I can only hope that you will enjoy the new design and features as much as the previous incarnation. The switch came as somewhat of a surprise to a few people but I can assure you that the motivation and reasoning were very solid.

The biggest motivation for us to design and develop a new website was to integrate content management software.  This content management system, or CMS for short, will allow us to add and edit the content of the site very easily and will also make future design changes much easier to implement. Another goal behind the new software is to make it easier for us to publish design articles and software tips that will be searchable on Google to increase our exposure on the web.  These articles will also be searchable on the site by clients and site members.

Another significant goal of the new website is to incorporate updated security features into the site as well as to allow us to easily update these features as we see necessary. The recent rise in attacks on online form scripts has prompted us to take action as well as to make some policy changes regarding the way that we approach the implementation of online form scripts.  For further discussion on the security issue regarding online forms, click here.

The redesigned Zandergraphics website includes many new features including blog space, a guestbook, studio newsflashes, and a new and improved portfolio design which includes featured projects on each of the main site pages.  Many more features and online tools are being planned and will be added to the site as time allows.

I would like to encourage all Zandergraphics friends and clients to sign our guestbook and let us know what you think of the new website and let the world know what you think of us as a studio.

The Studio Blog is available to the public and is intended to allow our friends a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes operations of the studio as well as some personal observations of mine.  Being new to the blogging world, I expect that the format will evolve over time, but for now if is a sort of online journal where I recap the day and sometimes blow off a little steam.

If you are familiar with our old portfolio design, you will immediately notice the expanded format of the new portfolio. We hope that the new design will help our site visitors gain even more insight into what it is that we do here. We have included notes on individual projects and much more information that the previous portfolio offered. We have incorporated a neat little script that expands the project image on the page for easier viewing and are working on adding additional pages for multiple page projects as well as links between related projects.

The new website is fully searchable, including blog entries, a feature that we had planned to add to the old website, but never got to it. With the addition of design articles and other published content, this feature should prove to be very useful.

The new Zandergraphics site is intended to serve as a showcase of our work and talents. We have plans for the development of many new features and content areas including a customer support database, live support chat, project quote request forms, video and animation portfolios, and member resources. Announcements will be made when appropriate as these new features are implemented.
