| 04.19.07 - Portfolio Development and Evolution |
|
The new Zandergraphics portfolios have begun to take shape and are being developed and expanded almost daily. After hours of reviewing and even testing many commercial portfolio software applications, we came to the conclusion that if we wanted it done to our satisfaction, we've have to create it from scratch. There are some neat features that have been incorporated into the new portfolios and the new layout and design really makes the project samples more user-friendly and just friendlier in general. Images on the portfolio pages can be clicked to expand into a larger view and we are working on adding multiple images for multiple page projects as well as related or similar project links at the bottom of each page. Expanded descriptions and project notes have been included for each project, which we believe gives them a more personal feeling. However, this is also a large part of the reason that the re-population of the portfolio pages is going a bit slowly. Writing project notes for something that you worked on six months ago is hard enough, much less five or even ten years ago. Needless to say, the new portfolios primarily contain more recent project at the moment. It is our goal to get a wide variety of work samples posted that demonstrate our abilities and the scope of our talents. Video and Flash animation galleries will be coming sometime in the not too distant future. Audio samples and Flash audio and video players are also in the works for future areas of the site. Overall, the new Zandergraphics website is meant to serve as a virtual showcase of the potential of website design and online business tools. There has even been some though given to the idea of having a Zandergraphics online store to sell t-shirts and hats and also to serve as an example of our ecommerce capabilities. In a way, this whole site is intended as a big portfolio of what we can do for our customers. Visit our portfolios here . |
