In response to a recent increase in the volume of unsolicited messages and scams that have been received lately, the Zandergraphics Team has just finished a series of modifications to our email server settings. These changes are designed to target spammers who are using fake email addresses to send messages to our server account and shouldn't affect those of you who are sending legitimate messages.

Those of you who have email accounts through your domain (you @ yourdomain.com) that are forwarded by the Zandergraphics server should experience a significant drop in the amount of junk mail that gets through to your account. We are expecting these latest changes, along with others that were made earlier in the week, to slow the flow of spam by 90% or more. Hopefully none of you were receiving too much to begin with, but considering we have a number of administrative email accounts set up for the studio, it was starting to add up.

On the Internet, “phishing” is any attempt to trick people into providing personal information using fake emails and fake websites designed to deceive the viewer into believing thay are somewhere that they are not. Sometimes these fraudulent emails are fairly easy to spot, but sometimes, as with this message, they can be very easily confused for the real thing.

The new Zandergraphics Support page is now Live in more ways than just the obvious.

The new area, accessible through the Support link at the bottom of every page of the website, now features integration with Yahoo Messenger. Plans to expand this function to include Yahoo's new web interface are in the wings and, as soon as we figure it out, will be implemented as well.

The company Domain Registry of America (DROA) has, as recently as April of 2007, been engaging in deceptive and ILLEGAL business practices regarding the registration and/or transfer of Internet domain names.

Although the specific tactics and approaches described herein may be changed or adjusted in attempts by DROA to sidestep the law, the end result of their deception and the general tactics are likely to remain essentially the same.
